Barrel racing challenges a horse and rider to complete a cloverleaf pattern around three barrels as quickly as possible. The events are sanctioned by the British Columbia Barrel Racers Association, a nonprofit organization that promotes barrel racing for horses and riders of different ages and experience levels throughout the province. The Nicola Valley Rodeo Grounds regularly hosts barrel racing, ranch rodeos, youth events, clinics and other equestrian activities throughout the season.
