Recreational off-road vehicle use is now prohibited on provincial Crown land throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre as the province introduces further restrictions amid extreme wildfire conditions. The provincial off-road vehicle prohibition is separate from the city’s closure and applies to Crown land throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre. ’s wildfire season, the BC Wildfire Service is also asking people to avoid the backcountry in affected regions. The BC Wildfire Service said conditions will continue to be monitored and the prohibition could be expanded or rescinded as needed. Anyone found violating the off-road vehicle prohibition could receive a ticket of up to $1,150.
