— The South Dakota Highway Patrol on Monday reported six new injuries during the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, including two after a motorcyclist struck a deer. Over the course of the 10-day Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, the South Dakota Highway Patrol releases daily information on crashes and crime in and around the city of Sturgis. Troopers say the motorcycle struck the Pontiac, causing the 32-year-old male biker to separate from the bike. Troopers say the motorcycle struck the SUV’s driver’s side door, causing non-life-threatening injuries to the bike’s 50-year-old male driver and 53-year-old female passenger. According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, troopers have not seized any cash or vehicles during this year’s Rally.
