FARGO — The former superintendent of the Midkota School District has signed a plea agreement with federal prosecutors, admitting to three charges of attempted child sex exploitation, receipt of child sex exploitation material and coercion of a minor.
The estimated ages of the victims in the initial state case filed against Baron ranged from 7 to 13 years old.
Baron also agreed to plead guilty to a receipt of child sex exploitation images charge related to conduct involving another juvenile female victim over a decade ago, between 2014 and 2016.
Baron faces a mandatory-minimum sentence of 15 years on the attempted child sex exploitation charge alone.
A formal change of plea hearing in Baron's case is scheduled for Aug. 21.
