PATTERSON — Joshua Williams, 19, of Desloge, Missouri, became the fourth drowning victim in Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop E this year. Williams drowned about 4:50 p.m. Saturday at Sam A. Baker Campground, four miles north of Patterson in the St. Francis River, according to patrol reportsThe subject was swimming, began to struggle, and started to panic, troopers reported. The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:26 p.m. by Wayne County Coroner Seth Deck. Investigating were highway patrol Sgt. Wilson, Trooper J.R. Stombaugh, Trooper E.M. Reynolds, and Park Ranger E. Shearrer.
