HORNERSVILLE -- The 2026 Hornersville Watermelon Festival took place over the weekend, marking the fifth anniversary of its return. Hornersville City Clerk and the Watermelon Festival Committee President, Lisa DuVall, was proud to see the streets in her hometown filled with entertainment and joy on Saturday, August 8. At 10 a.m., the Watermelon Festival parade ran down Main Street, officially opening up the town for vendors and entertainment. Maddax Moore took first place with a 178.2 Ibs watermelon. Kenny Crawford came in second place with a 172.2 Ibs melon, while Ryan Moore earned third with a 169.6 Ibs watermelon.
