A colossal alligator, stretching 10 feet (approximately 3.05 meters) in length and tipping the scales at over 300 pounds, was safely captured near Coconut Creek High School in South Florida. The Coconut Creek Police Department announced on Saturday that the gigantic reptile was spotted beside a canal located at the intersection of Coconut Creek Parkway and Lyons Road, bordering the high school's grounds. Officials humorously noted the alligator's impressive size by suggesting it could have played as a left tackle for the Coconut Creek High School football team. This event occurred just days after another alligator was discovered on a baseball field at a high school in Osceola County, while the football team was practicing nearby. Back in 2016, Davie police captured an alligator measuring 11 feet and weighing 450 pounds near two schools.
