(Jason Petty)Swipe or click to see moreRVINE, Calif. — Madalyn Petty, a member of the Tyler Rose Aquatic Club, competed on the national stage last week at the Speedo Junior National Swimming Championships at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. With the nation’s top 18-and-under swimmers gathering in California, Petty brought home a silver and bronze in an event that serves as a premier showcase and stepping stone to senior elite competition. Petty, who goes by Mady, is an incoming junior at Tyler Legacy High School and is currently a top-20 recruit. Organized by USA Swimming, events like the Speedo Junior National Championships feature top swimmers (usually ages 18 and under) competing in short-course or long-course formats. Petty is a two-time state champion in Class 6A in the 500-yard freestyle.
