The Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association (WCMA) encouraged the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry to keep working on a farm bill following a 10-11 vote Monday.
WCMA’s Senior Director of Programs & Policy Rebekah Sweeney says, “Dairy businesses depend on a strong Farm Bill that supports innovation, expands market opportunities, and helps them remain competitive in an ever-changing global marketplace.”
“Today’s vote underscores the importance of bipartisan, collaborative work on a comprehensive Farm Bill.
Dairy processors are committed to helping ensure families have access to nutritious foods, and they recognize the importance of getting SNAP policy right.
WCMA will continue to work with members of Congress to advance a Farm Bill that strengthens the dairy industry, supports rural communities, and maintains strong nutrition programs.”
