The Claremont on Byres Road, latterly known as Taylors Hotel, is set to make a comeback after its owners announced they are taking back the keys. The venue will become part of the Fitzsimmons Group, a family-run hospitality business based in Ayrshire. The group is behind a number of venues across the region, including Oscars in Saltcoats, the Riverside Lodge Hotel in Irvine and the Carlton Hotel in Prestwick. Announcing the plans, the owners said they have owned the Claremont for 13 years but had previously leased the premises out. The former Taylors Hotel was put on the market through estate agents DM Hall following its closure.
