Source: REO Speedwagon / Radio OneBefore REO Speedwagon became one of the biggest arena rock bands of the late 1970s and early ’80s with hits like “Keep On Loving You” and “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” the Illinois-based group found its identity with an uplifting anthem that has stood the test of time: “Keep Pushin‘.” Cronin had briefly left REO Speedwagon in 1972 after creative differences and the pressures of constant touring. Musically, “Keep Pushin'” showcased a more polished and melodic REO Speedwagon without losing the band’s hard-rock foundation. The album became REO Speedwagon’s first to earn significant national attention and laid the groundwork for future multi-platinum releases like Hi Infidelity. Nearly 50 years after its release, “Keep Pushin'” remains one of REO Speedwagon’s defining songs.
