Boy George has defended his controversial pro-Israel song We Will Dance Again, saying artificial intelligence allowed him to make the track without the objections he expected from human musicians. The song takes an explicitly pro-Israel position, including the lines, “You say Genocide, I say war” and “When you’re attacked, that’s what the army’s for”. George has said the song was written in response to the attack and in support of the Jewish community. He also defended Israel’s military response in Gaza, placing the song within the wider political and cultural dispute surrounding the war. George, whose real name is George Alan O’Dowd, also argued that AI had removed what he described as unwanted human interference from the creative process.
