Gas prices drop in Iowa
[]

Hunter08/11/26The average price of gas in Iowa has fallen 9 1/2 cents a gallon in the last week.
The price is slightly lower than a month ago, but remains over 83 cents higher than motorists were paying a year ago.
The national price dropped even further, by 10.7 cents per gallon, but is still higher than Iowa, at $3.94 a gallon.
Patrick DeHaan, petroleum analyst with Gas Buddy, says the drop may be short-lived, with Iran pushing back against a reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
He says if things don’t go well, the national average could climb to its highest level ever recorded late in the calendar year.
