The Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate’s Freedoms Committee documented 108 cases of crimes, attacks and violations against Palestinian journalists and media workers in July 2026.
In a statement, the Freedoms Committee said it had documented 58 cases of detention and journalists being prevented from carrying out their reporting duties, making these the most frequently recorded violations during the month.
It also documented 12 cases in which journalists were targeted with stun grenades and tear gas.
In several cases, journalists suffered breathing difficulties while covering raids, attacks and events on the ground.
In terms of physical assaults, the Freedoms Committee documented six cases of beatings, in addition to four cases in which journalists sustained bleeding injuries while carrying out their duties and covering events in the Gaza Strip.
