A low-pressure system being monitored in the Atlantic has reached a 70% chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next seven days, potentially forming in the latter part of this week.
Earlier, at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, the NHC reported a 60% chance of development over seven days and a 20% chance for the next 48 hours.
The NHC is also tracking a tropical wave located roughly 900 miles—approximately 1,448 kilometers—east of the Windward Islands.
This disturbance is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms and has a 10% chance of development, both in the next 48 hours and over seven days.
