The Nicaraguan government has commenced the installation of a metal sculpture honoring Fidel Castro on the Bolívar to Chávez Avenue in Managua. "ENATREL workers have crafted another marvel, a metal sculpture being installed with great honor and pride on Bolívar to Chávez Avenue," she declared. Murillo asserted that the Cuban dictator inspired revolutionary struggles and supported the Nicaraguan people, whom she called "brave" and "heroic," saying they "give their lives for peace." The Cuban regime inaugurated the first International Colloquium "Fidel: Legacy and Future" in Havana, drawing over 1,500 delegates from 63 countries, including more than a thousand foreigners. In November 2022, Díaz-Canel and Vladimir Putin unveiled a statue of the Cuban dictator in Moscow, costing approximately $330,000.
