Anyone walking down the sidewalk ran “afowl” of the goose, which was protecting a duck’s eggs. The family’s home security cameras recorded as Goosey let out several loud honks while flames erupted in the barn behind the home. Gerber was able to extinguish the flames and the animals inside the barn were able to escape unharmed. Gerber and his wife, Chelsea, said the incident could have turned tragic if not for Goosey’s vigilance. “We are still in complete shock over how differently this could have ended,” Chelsea Gerber wrote on social media.
