Hunter08/11/26A Coralville man was taken into custody Monday on a warrant accusing him of violating the requirements of the sex offender registry. According to court records, 48-year-old Waylen Sherod of Lynncrest Drive last updated his information on June 1st and failed to update vehicle information. When attempting to contact Sherod about the violation, a family member said that he “always drove” that vehicle. Court records show he was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance on Monday when the warrant was discovered. Sherod faces up to five years in prison for the sex offender registry violation, and up to two years for the possession charge, both second offenses.
