A devastating, high-impact collision at a notorious intersection in Hallett Cove, South Australia, literally tore their vehicle in half, claiming the life of a young woman and leaving another fighting to survive. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. at the intersection of Lonsdale Road and Barramundi Drive, located about 21 kilometers south of Adelaide. The front half of the Nissan remained mangled on the road, but the rear of the vehicle was completely missing. According to South Australia’s Acting Premier Kyam Maher, the young woman’s death is the “73rd life lost” on South Australian roads in 2026. As the SAPOL Major Crash Investigation unit continues to probe the exact sequence of events that led to the collision, the Hallett Cove community is left mourning a young life cut far too short.
