A former flight attendant posed as a commercial pilot to score hundreds of free flights in a con similar to those by “Catch Me If You Can” crook Frank Abagnale.
Dallas Pokornik, 34, of Toronto, Canada, is pictured in a Facebook photo on Oct. 22, 2018.
His scheme wasn’t too dissimilar to that of Abagnale, who posed as Pan Am pilot when he was 16 and forged a license to score free flights.
He was played by Leonardo DiCaprio in the 2002 Steven Spielberg film based on Abagnale’s 1980 autobiography, “Catch Me If You Can.”
“Travel security protocols help keep our citizens and visitors safe, and anyone who breaches those protocols should expect to be brought to justice,” Sorenson said.
