Marshals arrested one of the suspected members of a “South American Theft Group” who stole more than $100,000 worth of valuables from a Brookline home last year. A Brookline Police investigation following the March 2024 theft identified four suspects and issued warrants for their arrests. Marshals found one of the suspects and arrested him in Miami, Florida this past week. The South American Theft Group is not a single criminal squad but a number of crews that share characteristics, according to the FBI, which has been tracking such SATGs for some time. The crews tend to like such homes that abut open areas like golf courses or parks, which makes it easier to sneak into.
