It was another traffic nightmare Monday morning for motorists when an 18-wheeler crashed into a guardrail on the bridge over Lake Hartwell between SC and Georgia. Speaking Monday morning, Fair Play, SC Fire Department Chief Wilkerson said the crash caused part of the tractor’s cab to lay partially over the side of the bridge. This is the second time in as many months that a crash on the state line bridge shut traffic down for hours. On July 1, an 18-wheeler hauling cars overturned on the bridge, spilling fuel into the lake. The crash closed the bridge until early the next morning while crews worked to remove the truck, the cars, and make repairs to the bridge.
