Alberta online gambling ads frequency continues to raise concerns

If you take a walk in West Edmonton Mall, you’d see more online gambling ads than store fronts.
Alberta launched its online gambling market on July 16, 2026, which opened the door for all regulated and licensed casinos to offer their products legally to local residents.
But people in the province start to notice that online casinos and sports betting ads are everywhere: on the radio, on YouTube and Instagram, or even on TV.
Online casinos are different to traditional casinos, as they can be played anywhere anytime, as there is no direct oversight from another human in person.
In the UK, for example, there is a gambling advertising ban at sporting events, and Sennyah thinks Canada should adopt this.
