Author Ruskin Bond recently spoke about his health, sharing that he has lost the use of his legs, a condition that developed a few months ago.
And I had some spinal surgery, and I recovered very well except that I’m taking a long time getting back on my feet.
The underlying cause needs to be identified through a clinical examination and appropriate imaging before deciding on treatment,” said Dr Patel.
Treatment therefore often needs to combine medical or surgical management, where appropriate, with structured physiotherapy and rehabilitation,” said Dr Patel.
“In such cases, identifying the cause early can make an important difference to the treatment pathway and the possibility of preserving mobility,” Dr Patel added.
