Special to IFNThe Mooresville Police Department has completed all investigations related to a recent audit of its automated license plate reader (ALPR) system and found no additional criminal misuse. Police Chief Ron Campurciani said she used the ALPR system to track her boyfriend’s ex-wife. As a result of this investigation, the MPD has overhauled and updated its policies related to the ALPR system to put in additional safeguards against potential misuse. MPD will continue to regularly audit system use to ensure compliance and monitor the efficacy of this technology.
