Amrut Peated is an Indian single malt whisky produced by Amrut Distilleries in Bengaluru, India. Amrut means “nectar of the gods”, an appropriate name for a whisky distillery, and one that whisky lovers will probably find hard to argue with. Interestingly, Amrut’s first single malt was released exclusively in Scotland in 2004. The idea was simple: if Scottish drinkers embraced an Indian single malt, then the rest of the world would be more willing to do the same. Made with peated barley imported from Scotland, this no-age-statement single malt is bottled at 46% ABV.
