Due to extremely high temperatures, the entire country is in the orange alert phase, and according to the forecasts of the Hydrometeorological Directorate, the hot weather will continue throughout the next week. In addition to the heat, high temperatures additionally increase the risk of fires, so in recent days active fire hotspots have been registered in several locations across the country. Fires in several locations are also being dealt with by teams from the fire brigade of the city of Skopje. They say that firefighters are on constant alert and are actively working to localize the fires and repair the consequences. Authorities continue to warn that the risk of fires occurring and spreading rapidly remains extremely high.
