The inspection is also expected to strengthen coordination between the federal sports authorities and the Enugu State Government as preparations enter a more critical phase. The LOC is scheduled to unveil the official logo and mascot of the 23rd National Sports Festival on August 28, 2026. With the MOC inspection scheduled for August 26 and 27, preparations for the Coal City Games are expected to enter a decisive phase. The NSC maintained that the combined efforts of the federal commission, MOC, LOC and Enugu State Government would help deliver a successful festival that meets the expectations of athletes and sports stakeholders across the country.
