Knox County Park District Director David Heithaus told the Board of Commissioners on Aug. 6 that the Kokosing Gap Trail repaving project hopefully will begin in the next few weeks. So we're in very good shape for getting the crews out there, and a lot of credit for that goes to the Kokosing Gap Trail Volunteer Board who continue to make the park district's life very easy on that 13 miles." He said they have been discussing the Kokosing Gap Trail repaving project for two years and it is about to start. Heithaus also said that detour signs have been printed and will be moved as work progresses along the trail. The park district may apply an asphalt patch or lift up affected areas until funding becomes available for more permanent repairs.
