This is not what moviegoers recently got by seeing the all-IMAX film “based” on Homer’s epic, The Odyssey. You could look to The Walking Dead for the wiggle room permitted. The Walking Dead, of course, spans several different mediums of adaptation. The Walking Dead slots adapt from the show. Even so, there are plenty of examples of filmmakers achieving this in a way that’s faithful to the source material and gives cinemagoers a grand experience.
