Mumbai, August 11: The Indian cricket team is currently in Sri Lanka for a two-match Test series.
Historically, the India-Sri Lanka series has showcased a dominance of batsmen, with Virat Kohli holding the record for the most runs scored in a single Test series between the two nations.
Kohli amassed a remarkable 610 runs in five innings during the three-Test series played in India against Sri Lanka in 2017-18, which included three centuries and one half-century.
His batting average stood at an impressive 152.50, with a highest score of 243 runs, marking the highest run tally in any single Test series between India and Sri Lanka.
Following Kohli in the record books is former Sri Lankan opener Sanath Jayasuriya, who scored 571 runs in three innings during a two-Test series against India in Sri Lanka in 1997.
