City University Qatar (CUQ) is set to welcome academics from Ulster University to its Lusail campus on Thursday 13 August 2026 to co-deliver ‘Build Your First Game’, an interactive event workshop designed to introduce students and aspiring developers to the exciting world of game development. Commenting on the visit, Dr Victoria McCollum, Associate Dean for Partnerships and Student Recruitment at Ulster University, said: ‘Qatar has a fast-growing gaming community and remarkable creative talent. Our partnership with City University Qatar means students here learn the same craft, from the same team, as their peers in the UK. The event will feature BSc (Hons) in Game Design and Development, the Qatar’s only digital game design, university-level programme that offers UK degree. The skills behind digital game building such as design, coding, storytelling and teamwork, are the same skills that tomorrow’s employers will increasingly be looking for.
