A self-medicating Fife firebug high on mystery drugs has been sent to prison for the first time after torching a van full of tools. The vehicle fire started on Lawson Street, Kirkcaldy, spread to a garden fence and the window of a nearby home, the local sheriff court heard. When Weatherburn saw he had been spotted by a 16-year-old girl nearby, he grabbed her by the throat and motioned to stab her. He was brought from prison back to Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court on Monday. Once he is released from prison, Weatherburn will also be supervised by social workers for six months.
