Concerns over Uganda’s safety and security, as well as lingering international travel advisories, took centre stage as Deputy Speaker of Parliament Thomas Tayebwa hosted Czech Republic Lower House Speaker Tomio Okamura on a gorilla trekking expedition in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Tayebwa used the high-profile visit to counter negative perceptions about Uganda, stressing that the country is safe for international visitors and is completely free of Ebola.
