Amaravati: The state government has launched ‘Nethannala Sevalo’ scheme, under which Below Poverty Line (BPL) handloom weaver families will receive Rs 25,000 per household annually from the 2026-27 financial year to strengthen the handloom sector and improve the livelihoods of traditional weavers.
The government approved detailed implementation guidelines submitted by the commissioner of handlooms and textiles for rolling out the scheme across the State.
As per the eligibility conditions, the Rs 25,000 assistance will be credited to the head of the handloom weaver household.
However, only one member of a weaver family will be eligible, irrespective of the number of handlooms owned.
The beneficiary family must also belong to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category.
