Udaipur, August 11, 2026: A 23-year-old woman from Pali, Rajasthan, who was referred to the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Pacific Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Umarda, with severe respiratory symptoms, has successfully undergone a complex bronchoscopy procedure that restored the function of her completely collapsed left lung. Initial chest X-ray and HRCT chest scans revealed that the patient’s left lung had completely collapsed. Complete Blockage in Left Main BronchusDuring the bronchoscopy, doctors found that the patient’s left main bronchus was completely blocked, making it impossible to advance the bronchoscope further. A post-procedure X-ray showed that the patient’s left lung had re-expanded.
