A second drug test of the pilot-in-command of the Air India Phuket-Delhi flight that fell 300 feet has come back “positive for marijuana”, according to sources.
Over four years ago, the DGCA established and implemented a stringent protocol for flight crew members — pilots — and other segments of the aviation workforce who test positive for psychoactive substances.
The Air India pilot’s screening test was indeed ‘non-negative’.
A third positive test result leads to the cancellation of the person’s license.
Upon the initial refusal, the employee is removed from duty and must clear a drug test within 48 hours.
