Road safety campaigner Mozammel Hoque Chowdhury was cleared today in an extortion case filed in 2018. “Today, the complainant told the court that he did not know Mozammel and had not filed any case against him. On September 4, 2018, Mohammad Dulal, 48, filed the case with Mirpur Model Police Station against Mozammel on an extortion charge. In the case statement, complainant Dulal alleged that Mozammel, identifying himself as a transport leader, demanded Tk 2 lakh from him. He said he paid Mozammel Tk 10,000 in front of Sony Cinema Hall in Mirpur on September 3.
