Transport workers withdrew their blockade in Dinajpur town around 7:30pm today, after nearly nine hours, following a meeting with local administration officials and political leaders at the DC office. The blockade was withdrawn after authorities assured the workers that their demands would be considered following due procedure, said Bakhtiar Ahmed Kochi, general secretary of the district BNP. Dinajpur-3 lawmaker Syed Jahangir Alam, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops) Anwar Hossain, district BNP President Mofazzal Hossain Dulal, Bakhtiar Ahmed Kochi, and Dinajpur Transport Workers' Union Convener Abdul Kaium, among others, attended the meeting, chaired by Additional District Magistrate Nur A Alam Siddiquee. At a street rally, transport workers' leaders demanded the immediate release of Mojib, arrest of the CID inspector, and withdrawal of the officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
