Infrastructure security, transportation routes, capital, markets and reliability of supply have all become components of energy power. How security enters the energy equationThe relationship between a defence pact and energy cooperation is neither direct nor automatic. Institutionalised security cooperation may create a more favourable environment for economic cooperation, but such conditions would not by themselves create an energy corridor.
