Tryon artist Linda Hudgins remembered in Gaffney exhibition

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...GAFFNEY—The work of longtime Tryon artist Linda Page Hudgins will be featured in an upcoming exhibition in Gaffney, giving visitors an opportunity to see more than 90 original pieces from an artist whose work was shaped in part by her years in the Foothills.
“Linda Page Hudgins 1939-2025: A Life in Full Color” will be on display September 8 through November 6 at the Gaffney Visitors Center and Gallery.
Hudgins, who died in 2025, was a contemporary abstract painter who lived and worked in Tryon for many years.
In an artist’s statement, Hudgins described her creative process as one of paying close attention and responding honestly to what emerged on the canvas.
A gala reception is scheduled for September 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Gaffney Visitors Center, located at 210 W. Frederick St.CAVA is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting regional artists.
