The National Wages Council (NWC) will convene on 19 August to develop its annual guidelines on wage and employment-related issues for the period from 1 December 2026 to 30 November 2027. The NWC will consider Singapore’s economic competitiveness, labour market conditions, inflation, productivity growth, and the global economic outlook. The tripartite council, which comprises representatives from employers, employees and the government, is expected to release the guidelines by the end of October. It will also continue to provide annual guidance on the range of Progressive Wage growth for lower-wage workers. Members of the public may submit feedback and suggestions for the upcoming guidelines to the NWC Secretariat until 19 August.
