One person was taken to hospital following a serious multi-vehicle collision that closed the M5 motorway between Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater on Monday evening (August 10th). Police said all traffic was held between Burnham’s junction 22 and Bridgwater’s junction 23 following the crash at around 5.25pm. A Police spokesman says: “The M5 carriageway was closed in both directions between J22 (Burnham-on-Sea) and J23 (Bridgwater) following a four-vehicle collision.” “One person was taken to hospital with injuries which were thought to be life-changing.” National Highways reported long delays in both directions and on diversion roads as traffic sought to get around the incident.
