Novolex Holdings LLC will close a thermoforming plant on Old Jackson Highway in the Beech Island area later this year. The facility runs through Pactiv LLC, a subsidiary operating in southern Aiken County. Parkdale Mills' Plant 40 in Graniteville was the last big manufacturing site to shutter in Aiken County, which happened in 2023. The Western SC Economic Development Partnership works with new and existing industries in Aiken, Edgefield, McCormick, and Saluda counties. Then the company shuttered a thermoforming plant in Bakersville, California, eliminating 127 jobs.
