Plant City High School students will start the new academic year under a strict new security measure requiring transparent backpacks and see-through lunchboxes on campus. The policy takes effect as Hillsborough County students prepare to return to classrooms. Emily Lewis, whose child attends the school, said she backs the change but believes it shouldn't be the only safeguard in place. "At least we know what the kids are walking into school with,” said Lewis. ”I think there should be more safety features that should be implemented other than just the clear backpacks,” said Floyd.
