Resident Michael Giacomino asked the trustees whether the village board would prevent the construction of a fence at the school. She said that in 2019, trustees met with the school board members to review the fence’s access points for first responders’ vehicles. In October 2019, the state Supreme Court ruled in favor of the residents and ordered the school board to halt the construction of the fence. The decision was later appealed in the Appellate Division, Second Department, Blinkoff said, which hears appeals from the Supreme Court, in part, for Long Island. He said the original application for the fence remains pending in the state Supreme Court.
