Trenton sets Aug. 24 hearing on proposed 2026 property tax rates

The City of Trenton will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, at City Hall, 1100 Main Street, to receive public comments on property tax rates proposed for 2026.
The proposed rates are intended to generate the property tax revenue required under the city’s budget.
Real estate accounts for $41,313,155 of the 2026 assessed valuation, compared with $41,296,935 in 2025.
The maximum tax rate ceiling is 1.0000, while the rate after the sales tax rollback is .9751.
Its maximum tax rate ceiling is .3000, with a rate of .1842 after the sales tax rollback.
