The family of Lisa Koppel has revealed that the late wife of South African singer Daniel ‘Danny K’ Koppel had been privately battling colorectal cancer for almost three years, Cape {town} Etc reports. According to the family, Lisa approached her treatment with extraordinary courage, exploring different options and seeking medical care both locally and internationally. Despite the efforts of her family and medical teams, she ultimately could not be saved. The family said Lisa remained focused on the people closest to her throughout her illness, describing her as gentle, humble and brave. News of Lisa’s death was confirmed on Monday, 10 August, by Danny K’s mother, Pam Koppel.
