Dads in Schools, a Clark County volunteer program credited with helping curb campus violence, is recruiting about 100 additional volunteers as the new school year begins. At its busiest point, more than 300 volunteers covered upwards of 100 schools. This year, roughly 50 more campuses have requested volunteers than the program currently has to place, according to organizers. About 100 volunteers are set to begin when classes resume Monday, but leaders are still training people and want at least 100 more to sign on. "I would really like to encourage mothers, aunts, any family members, any women that want to volunteer," a program representative said.
