U.S. District Judge Nusrat Choudhury ordered Carmine Agnello, grandson of John Gotti, to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons on Monday, Aug. 10, after failing to meet the deadline for a kidney transplant to his mother, Oyster Bay resident Victoria Gotti.
“He is giving me the GIFT OF LIFE,” Victoria wrote in a letter to Choudhury in March.
Beltrani wrote a last-minute request to Choudhury yesterday, asking to postpone Agnello’s surrender to the Bureau of Prisons for Friday, Sept. 18, despite the surgery not taking place.
“His ability to serve as her donor is imperative to the transplant team’s determination on a surgery date,” Beltrani wrote.
Choudhury ordered Agnello to receive mental health counseling and therapy for his gambling addiction, as well as 2 years of post-release supervision after his 15-month sentence.
